Heralding the art of words in Western NY & beyond...
Home Page
From the June 2009 issue of "TOH"...

From the May 2009 issue of "TOH",
themed "I Got Rhythm & the Weary Blues"...

I am an artist...It's self-evident that what that word implies is looking for something all the time without ever finding it in full. It is the opposite of saying, "I know all about it. I've already found it." As far as I'm concerned, the word means, "I am looking. I am hunting for it, I am deeply involved."

Readers, writers, subscribers and others...

WELCOME

to The Other Herald's new internet "home"!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"The best thing a writer can do, at any stage in their writing life or career, is simply to read and write as much as possible. We hope to help in whatever small way, to enrich that writing life by encouraging writers of all levels ...to spend at least a few minutes every day reading and writing something other than grocery lists, school or work papers, and junk mail! TOH, being a small publication, is just the right size for reading on a lunch break or while waiting in line. Make the most of those little bits of time in your day!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------

The Other Herald is published monthly, offering to connect/ support/ grow/ showcase writers of Western NY and beyond. Especially it is the intention of TOH to reach those who may not already feel included in the writing community as a whole, i.e. those who are subject to the isolation of small-town living, intense self- judgment, confined to nursing homes, young adults often ignored by publishers.

However, we "herald" only good writing and information of interest to writers. Some submissions may not fit our needs, and we will say so, sometimes even with constructive comments. Special preference is never given to submissions based on the writer's personal circumstances or location of residence. We accept submissions from writers at all levels and from any location in the world; as well, our readers live in many different countries!
